SHOP THIS PROJECT ON AMAZON

Unfortunately, all but one of the vinyls are unavailable on Amazon. I have included direct links to them on TeckWrap Craft’s website. It is important to know that ordering directly from them will incur a $30 shipping fee. Shipping directly from them is free if your order is $99 or more. It is pretty easy to reach that amount, to be honest. LOL

Finding Inner Balance

Lately I’ve been looking deeper at myself to find inner balance to quell a whirlwind of emotions. There have been too many emotions experienced to name each. Sometimes, they are one or two at a time, but most often they are a barrage of everything at once, conflicting with one another and dealing havok.

Creative Fabrica for the win once again with this beautiful multilayered sun and moon design!

How Many Layers?!

Yeah…this one has a LOT of layers. The original design calls for six layers. I duplicated the bottom layer for a new effect, bringing the total number of layers to seven.

In the past when using the opal leopard and geometric vinyls, I’ve kept them on the very bottom as to reduce the risk of the vinyl appearing significantly different than intended. A previous project completed by my mom has the geometric vinyl on top of a dark green, creating a brown, muddy overall look that was not too pleasant.

To ensure that the two vinyls would have a nice look, I did a swatch test to preview how they would look on top of other vinyls. Once I started doing this, I was quickly reminded of the days of costuming where I would create swatch pages for various costumes in order to thoroughly plan each one.

The end result was really pretty in my opinion. I love how the shimmery glitter from the layers below each of the translucent vinyls shows through.

Swatch Page

I really think this may be how I plan larger layering projects in the future!! I’ve planned out three projects so far like this. The first one executed was this yin yang design and to say that this swatch page planning was successful would be a bit of an understatement.

This page was a true lifesaver when it came to making sure my layers were in the correct order! I was able to make sure that I loaded each mat in the correct intended order and was able to triple check the order as I layered each one. This would have saved a lot of hassle experienced during the shamrock project.

In the future, I intend to continue project planning in this manner, but in a ring-bound notebook instead to help ensure I stay organized.
