Same Owl, New Vinyl
I have made a new owl! Back in February and March of last year, I made a dark purple and silver glitter owl mandala design. Check them out below:
Now almost a year later, I make a new version with some of the TeckWrap Craft vinyl I have been obsessing over lately. While I am currently unsure of where to put this owl, I KNOW that this birdie will definitely have a place in the craft room…somewhere.
Loving This Weeding Hack
I first demonstrated this weeding hack back in October 2020. It was a working time saver then and continues to work wonderfully. Over time, I have realized that this hack is best when the design does not have loose pieces that remain, such as spirals or straight lines that are not connected at the end. For that reason, I do not use the painters tape on the entire owl design, but a mix of traditional weeding and tape weeding.
Either this tape weeding hack is a HUGE time saver or I am getting fast erat weeding (or maybe both). When I first made this owl last year, it took three hours to weed it. This time it was only one hour.
Personal Achievement
I’ve only mentioned it in passing, but I’ve been recovering from a pretty bad head injury since July from a car wreck. For a long time, it was affecting my communication (specifically remembering words and word meanings during conversation), energy levels (I would get tired very easily), and speed of motor skills. Things that would take minutes started to take an hour or more. Oftentimes, tasks would be about three times as long to complete.
With this new owl project, I have come to realize how far I have come in terms of recovery. Weeding this owl took less time than the other times I’ve done it, showing that not only am I getting significantly better, but am starting to improve skills from pre-accident days. It is really nice to be able to see for myself that I’m getting better.
