Uhhhhh OMG
First, this peacock heart design is INSANELY detailed. Usually when I see complex designs, I think ‘challenge accepted’. After two hour of weeding, I regretted those words. LOL But in the end, this peacock heart design was well worth the effort. It. Is. STUNNING!!!
After the updated sparkle llama, I wanted to use the glitter adhesive again to see how far I could push the limits. It is a glitter, which doesn’t usually handle detailed designs, especially at smaller sizes. I also had this absolutely beautiful sample sheet of TeckWrap Craft’s newest holographic mosaic vinyl with a geometric pattern that I just knew needed to be an underside layer to an awesome design. I was not disappointed!
Take Heed!
This peacock heart design is complex. I did this design at only 7 inches tall, which is much smaller than I usually do for detailed designs. It is also more of a line art type design, so the lines remaining once weeded would be thin. I honestly did not think I could push this glitter vinyl as far as I did. But once it was finished, I am stunned at how great it looks. Even though the design is small, it took a good bit of time to complete. My raw video footage was 2 hours 21 minutes.
I did have a few seconds here and there while working where I stopped and just stared off somewhere…anywhere besides the vinyl. Because of the small detail, the glitter, and the backlight, my eyes were pushed to their limit too. SMH
Editing Process
I’ve seen questions here and there recently asking about my editing process for videos. While I try to keep as much in as possible, there is material edited out on final cuts. Often, it would be a few seconds where I leaned over the vinyl to get a closer look, or stopped for a few seconds to respond to someone speaking. On this video, the Instagram and TikTok versions have had more significant cuts to fit into the one-minute format of each platform. That was quite a task. But I did manage to do it!
I use Adobe Premiere Pro, which I have access to as part of my Adobe Cloud access account. I like that the program stays updated and doesn’t require me to continue purchasing new versions of the program. Another feature I like is that I can easily use hot keys to regulate my workflow for a significant portion of the video editing process.
Video footage is moved from my iPhone 11 Pro to my computer to begin editing. I begin with the raw video footage to create the longer edit and audio is remixed from MixKit.co to match the length of the video. This longer version is uploaded to YouTube for a better view of the process for each project. The YouTube edit is then sped up to create a 1 minute or less version with no audio track for TikTok. Lastly, the sped up TikTok edit has audio remixed for the new video length and then put back in for the Instagram and Facebook edits.
Yeah, it’s a lot, but I find it’s worth it. I get to share everything with other crafters, help others learn, and improve my own skills. It’s win-win as far as I can tell.
