Always Measure First!
This project did not start out as a mermaid bottle. I recently purchased some of the newest HTVs and adhesive vinyls from TeckWrap Craft, so be prepared to see some of those new products on display for the next few projects. I instantly knew I wanted to make a mermaid splash with this vinyl and intended to put it on a green to blue ombre tumbler for my niece.
When I say measure first, boy do I mean it. I cut the mermaid splash design from Cricut Design Space and did not pay even a slight bit of attention to how tall it was compared to the tumbler. It ended up being much too tall for the tumbler. Luckily, I had a gray holographic bottle that would fit the cut. Thus this mermaid bottle was born.
Happy Surprise
I knew this vinyl would be stunning in person. It was stunning even in photos. I did not notice until having it in hand that the space between scales in NOT white. It is clear!! Needless to say, I am now giddy with the possibilities as well as a tad apprehensive of future applications. This is one to remember that small but oh so important detail when planning projects. I have a feeling I won’t be using this vinyl as frequently for unplanned purpose projects that I so often do.
