As a note before we get started, I want to say thank you to CoolSVG for the design and the opportunity to create this wonderful little sign!

Firstly…wow. I did NOT anticipate having such a significant break in work. Due to unavoidable events, I was unable to create projects or post for about a month. As sad as it makes me to realize how much time has been lost, I am happy to get back to work and continue making beautiful creations once again.

As a sort of ‘welcome back to crafting’ for myself and as a reminder to my loved ones, I decided to make this sign as a reminder to stop and breathe when things seem tough. There has been so much craziness in our lives and around the world. It seems to be an important reminder to take a breath every once in a while in order to not feel completely overwhelmed or helpless.

I was fortunate that my mother in town as I got back to work. It is her talented eye for decor that brings these specific vinyls together on this adorable little board. While shopping in IKEA for a shelf for the new craft space (oh yeah, we finally moved!), she spotted these little mini bamboo cutting boards and commented that they would be great for making signs. Of course that was my cue to throw some in the cart to have on hand. Little did I know that once we got back to the house, one would be put to use right away.

Looking back through previous work, I remembered a company selling SVG files reaching out for a collaboration in mid-July. I figured I’d take a look through their files and find one that would best fit my mood at the time. Being stressed and a bit too much in my own head, when I saw this design, I smiled right away. I knew that it was the sign that needed to make at that moment.

This design was a fun challenge due to the thin little whisky lines around the dandelion. I was a bit concerned that they would end up being too thin for the Cricut to cut, but it did not disappoint. Weeding around them took time and patience with a tool to hold the little pieces down as their surroundings were lifted away. Patience prevailed and the sign was a success.

Even though it is not as evident in the process video on IG, I used two different transfer tapes for this project by mistake. For the lettering, I first used a recycled piece of Cricut transfer tape. I quickly remembered why I shy away from using the Cricut brand tape as it was a HUGE struggle to remove the lettering from it to stay on the board. Let’s just say that part of the video is sped up a bit faster than the rest of it. Once The lettering was in place, I changed to the Magic Cover paper from Dollar Tree and the process was SO MUCH QUICKER!!! I now have this sign sitting on my work space as a reminder to
